Technical Details

Prepreg is a pre-impregnated carbon fabric characterised by even resin distribution and high fibre volume. This results in maximum strength and increased flexibility of the components. Processing in the autoclave, a high-pressure oven, ensures perfect, uniform curing and a flawless surface. This method prevents air pockets in the material and ensures consistently high quality.

The carbon parts are laminated by hand with great care and experience, allowing for consistent fibre alignment without distortion. After curing in the autoclave, the edges of the parts are precisely cut by robot to ensure a perfect fit and top quality.

Unique Plastic Powder Coating

A globally unique step in Ilmberger’s production is the full plastic powder coating of all carbon parts. This coating protects the parts from environmental influences and creates an incomparable depth effect. This sealing prevents ageing and significantly extends the product’s lifespan.

The final high-gloss clear coat ensures a perfect, smooth surface that emphasises the luxurious and sporty look of our carbon parts. Every part that leaves production is a masterpiece of engineering and design.
